Is working abroad worth it?

I'm still working in our country. My reason: I feel that i still have a lot to learn and i want to equip myself with the latest technologies in IT before I start applying and working somewhere else. But just out of curiosity... is it a good choice to work out of the country? And why did you say so? Let me here your voices guys!

  1. i don't think it is... unless you really plan to uproot your family from Manila.

    here are my points:
    1. $ sweldo means $ gastos. kahit pa i-convert mo yung sweldo mo to php (ex. 100k), gastos mo sa rent+utilities+daily expenses will all be in $. i think mas malaki pa din yung masasave mo sa pinas.

    2. layo sa family - you have 2 cute girls, na within the foundation years. true, more sweldo means you can provide for a better life, but, pano naman yung upbringing ng kids? i grew up with an OFW dad, and sad to say, he missed all my graduations (mind you, 4 yun na miss nya, 2 of which he could have gone up the stage and be a proud stage dad!) he missed a lot...! and ako din it would have been "nicer" if he was around more often.

    3. why be a small fish in a big pond? when you can be a big fish in a small pond? ;)

now, if you do intend to take the whole family with you, then it's another set of gastos hehe. if you and your husband will work, who will mind the kids while you are on the job? hire a nanny? get one parent?

i just thought i'd share these hehe. these are my main reasons why i haven't migrated elsewhere like most of my friends have.

    hope this helps!
